Yes, it is possible to migrate from Drupal 7 to Drupal 11, but it is a process that involves a certain level of complexity. Drupal 7 and Drupal 8 (and later versions) have quite different architectures and codebases, so a direct migration from Drupal 7 to Drupal 11 cannot be done in a single step.

Updating Drupal involves a certain amount of planning and execution work that companies often choose to postpone. However, sooner or later the time comes to tackle the task. And in fact, the longer the task is postponed, the greater the gap between Drupal 7 and the current mature version of Drupal, which tends to make the project and its cost more difficult. Therefore, it is always better to get ahead of the updates rather than having to play catch-up.

In general, a Drupal version stops receiving support once two newer versions of the platform become available. For example, Drupal 10 will stop receiving support when Drupal 12 is released. Therefore, at this time it is not strictly necessary to migrate from Drupal 10 to Drupal 11, since Drupal 10 continues to receive security support until December 2026 (specifically until December 9, 2026, when Drupal 12 is scheduled to be released).
